Grilled Salmon with Lemon and Dill
Ingredients:
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each), skin-on
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
- Preheat Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Prepare Salmon:
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
- Make Lemon-Dill Marinade:
- In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, chopped dill, minced garlic, lemon zest, and lemon juice to create a marinade.
- Marinate Salmon:
- Brush the salmon fillets with the lemon-dill marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Allow the salmon to marinate for at least 15-30 minutes to let the flavors infuse.
- Oil the Grill:
- Before placing the salmon on the grill, lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
- Grill Salmon:
- Place the salmon fillets on the preheated grill, skin-side down. Grill for about 4-6 minutes per side, or until the salmon easily flakes with a fork and has nice grill marks.
- Baste with Marinade (Optional):
- Optionally, baste the salmon with some of the leftover marinade during the grilling process for added flavor.
- Check for Doneness:
- Salmon is cooked when it flakes easily but is still moist in the center. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Serve:
- Carefully remove the grilled salmon from the grill and transfer it to a serving platter.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Garnish the Grilled Salmon with additional fresh dill and lemon wedges. Serve hot.
- Enjoy:
- Enjoy this Grilled Salmon with Lemon and Dill as a delicious and nutritious main dish.
Note:
- You can also use a grill pan on the stovetop if a grill is not available.
- Adjust the grilling time based on the thickness of the salmon fillets.
- For a complete meal, serve the grilled salmon with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
