Luka Dončić is a Slovenian professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was the third overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft and was selected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in the 2018–19 season. Dončić has already established himself as one of the best players in the NBA, winning the NBA Rookie of the Year award in 2019 and being named an NBA All-Star in each of the last three seasons. Luka Dončić was born on February 28, 1999, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He began playing basketball at a young age and quickly developed into a top prospect. At the age of 13, he joined the youth academy of Real Madrid, a professional basketball team based in Madrid, Spain.
